Local Programs

Every journey begins with a single step.

One act of service, one encouraging word, one gift of generosity is often all it takes to bring hope where it’s needed most.

Local Causes

We are proud to support local causes that are very important to our community.

Eyeglass Recycling Program

Lions are known throughout the world for their work to improve the lives of the visually impaired and prevent avoidable blindness.

We are proud to be part of the official Lions Clubs International Eyeglass Recycling Centre which provides recycled eyewear free of charge to people in developing countries.

DIABETES CAVALCADE

The Lions Cavalcade came into existence in 1987 when it was felt that as Lions we needed to establish a highly visible province-wide fund raising program to raise funds to help support Diabetes Canada with one of their programs to raise funds for Diabetes Awareness throughout Alberta and NWT.

LFC DOG GUIDES

From guiding their handlers through their daily lives to getting help when needed most, Dog Guides play a crucial role in the lives of Canadians with disabilities. Lions Foundation of Canada’s mission is to assist Canadians with a medical or physical disability by providing them with Dog Guides at no cost.

C-2 LIONS YOUTH CAMP

The Lions Youth Camp has been developed over the years to provide facilities for youth groups to enjoy the outdoors and the fellowship that this brings. Our objective is to enable children of all ages to use the Camp at a cost that ensures that the largest number of children may participate regardless of financial means.

LIONS QUEST CANADA

Lions Quest Canada is a registered charitable organization dedicated to fostering positive youth development by producing and disseminating effective tools to empower and unite caring adults in all aspects of young people’s lives. These tools include innovative and well-researched programs, products, training, and services for youth, parents, educators, and community leaders.

LIONS OF CANADA FUND FOR LCIF

In 1968 – 50 years ago – our International leaders founded our Lions Clubs International Foundation. Since then, LCIF has given over US$1 billion in grants. Of those grants, many have come to Canada to help Districts and Clubs serve their communities. In fact, Canadian Lions have received more than we have given.
